About

My name is Georgia Hansford and I am a qualified English teacher who offers various options of tutoring online and in the Salisbury area. I have been a teacher for ten years and a private tutor since my own daughter was a tiny baby way back in 2017. I tutor English at key stage 3 and GCSE level, 11+ and generic tutoring for primary aged children either preparing for SATS or to plug gaps in their knowledge. My speciality is preparing students in year 10 and 11 for their GCSE exams as I have been an AQA exam marker for the English papers since 2017, too.
Whilst I have spent the majority of my teacher career in mainstream secondary schools, I have experience in working in special needs settings too. I have recently completed my Masters degree in Psychology with my dissertation completed on ADHD. I have in-depth knowledge of most areas of SEND, and it’s my passion to support students who face barriers to their learning for whatever reason. I currently work with children who have experienced childhood trauma, children who have autism, ADHD and/ or PDA.
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. I am a huge English teacher cliche and I will always be reading a book of some kind. More recently, I have spread my wings into novel writing as well as reading too! I enjoy walking our family dog and dabble in ‘running’ and I enjoy pilates too. I am patient, reliable and personable. I work with the individual in front of me and champion every single student I work with.
